Thrashers Game Atmosphere
If you have never been to a Thrashers game you need to go right now. The games are so much fun. You are always entertained in some way, even when the play has stopped. There is no reason why not either because you can get nose bleed seats (top of the stadium) for ten dollars! There is plenty of food, and even if you have no interest in hockey the atmosphere will have you on you feet cheering in no time. I've had season tickets for two years, and I still get really excited when I get to go to a game. Because the city of Atlanta isn't really a big place for hockey they have all sorts of stuff to keep you entertained, and make you want to go back. They have a lot of those classic sports entertainment, like a kiss cam, contests, fifty fifty raffles and more. No matter who your with it's a great time. The games take place at Phillips Areana in downtown Atlanta (also where the Atlanta Hawks play). You have to come and see the games in person. There is typically at least one fight every game for all the guys, and plenty of hard hits. So all of you come out to see your Atlanta Thrashers play!
Thrashers=Playoffs
The thrashers are not a bad team, but lately they have been playing like crap. They started out the season great, but has started to play terrible lately. We were in sixth place, but now we are in tenth in the conference! For those of you who don't know only the top eight teems from each conference make it into the playoffs. When we came off of our hot streak we fell hard and fast. We lost to some of the worst teams in the league, including Toronto, which is beyond sad. As of yesterday we are in tenth place by two points. We were playing the Buffalo Sabres, the team that was tied with us for ninth place and we got our heads served to us on a silver platter. We lost four-to-one to the same team we beat six-to-two less than a month ago. We did the exact same thing a couple weeks ago against the Carolina Hurricanes when we were tied for eighth place. If we can pick up our game we can still make it, but if we keep loosing to some of the worst teams in the league it will never happen. So lets go Thrashers!
Ondrej Pavelec
You all know who that guy is standing in the Thrashers goal, during the game, who stops virtually every puck from going in. That is the Thrashers amazing goalie Ondrej Pavelec. He has really come out to shine this season with a .919 save percentage meaning he saves ninety-one point nine percent of shots taken on him. He has eighteen wins so far this season. He also has three shutouts, not a lot but still a very good goalie. He has thirteen hundred and twenty-five saves so far this season out of fourteen hundred thirty-five shots shots , putting him second in the league for those which goes to show how many games he's played (forty-six) and how well he plays. Over this season he's only let in about one hundred and ten goals in all season averaging two point seven goals per game! He is the one who really keeps us in the game, even though he is not alone with the help from his defense that is still very impressive. He is not the Thrashers only goalie however. You may have seen Chris Mason, our backup goalie at this point because Pavelec is dominating. In my opinion it is good for Pavalec to play because he's a beast!

Thrashers Moving!?!?
All of a sudden it was released that the thrashers were thinking of moving, and have been for years now, and everyone is so shocked. Why??? There has been talk of them moving ever since I moved here, three years ago. This wasn't in any way a surprise to anyone who is a Thrashers fan, and if it was you are either deaf or you don't care very much. I don't think this will happen any time soon. If they've been trying for as many years as they say they've been, then either their too greedy or they can't move. Also their fan base is growing fast. I started going to games three years ago when they could fill a little more than half the stadium at a good game, now they have got more than that during a bad, crappy game, and if they keep growing at this rate I don't see them going anywhere. I also think if we make the playoffs there is no way they are leaving for a long time. I certainly hope they do not leave. I've lived in Toronto Canada my whole life up until three years ago playing and watching hockey all the time. I love the sport, and I'm still able to do it here, just not as much. I do not want this sport taken away from me!
Dustin Byfuglien
If you have ever been to a Thrashers game you've probably heard the name Dustin Byfuglien. He is the Thrashers second highest scoring player, and also one of their best defencemen. He is the second highest scoring defencemen in the entire NHL. The Thrashers got him and three of our other star players from the Chicago Blackhawks (Andrew Ladd, Brent Sopel, and Ben Eager). After winning the Stanley Cup in the 2009-10 season they were way over the salary cap and had to get rid of many of their player, so we got some of our star players for nothing! Byfuglien was originally signed temporarily, but after how well he has been doing he was recently signed to a new multi-year contract with us. “Dustin has emerged into an elite player this season and been invaluable as a leader both on and off the ice," says Thrashers General Manager Dudley right after signing Byfuglien. "It was a priority to sign him and we’re looking forward to witnessing his All-Star caliber play for many years to come." Byfuglien is by far my favourite player on the Atlanta Thrashers, and one of my top favourites in the NHL right now and I'm very pleased his contract was extended.
Atlanta Thrashers Rundown
The Atlanta Thrashers are Atlanta's hockey team that plays at Phillips Arena, or to Thrashers fans "Blueland." Historically the Thrashers haven't done too well in the NHL, but that is finally changing this 2010-11 season. We have a very young impressive lineup, that we Thrashers fans will carry us at least into the playoffs. Included in this lineup is Dustin Byfuglien, the top scoring defense man in the entire league, Ondrej Pavelec, one of the best goalies in the league, Nik antropov a huge center, and many more. We started out this season not doing overly well, but starting in November 2010 things started to heat up. We got a couple great winning streaks winning twelve out of fifteen games in late November, early December. this is when some of our stars began to emerge. Our goalie, Ondrej Pavelec began to make amazing saves, causing him to become the second bet goalie in the entire league. some of our other players such as Andrew Ladd also became a star with a goal streak, stretching out five games. However we haven't been playing as well as of late and some people are beginning to question if we will make it into the playoffs at all, but we are still holding in and it still may be possible for us to make it.
